Menopause

Be Your Valentine

By  |

Be Your Valentine – Love YourselfI just turned 50 years young. I say “young” because I feel young and excited about the next chapter in my life. I have already begun my own journey through menopause which marks the final stage in a woman’s life.  Menopause starts around 50 and ends when we end…literally. We are menopausal until the day we die. So I always tell my patients that now is the time to finally put yourself on your own list of things to do.  Most women spend their 30’s and 40’s taking care of everyone else and do not spend enough time taking care of themselves.

Love Yourself this Valentine’s Day – Be Your Valentine

So as Valentine’s Day approaches, and I embark on my 50th year, I am going to eat healthier and exercise more. I am going to try yoga, because I finally feel grown up enough. I am going to reconnect with friends that I have not seen for many years. I am still going to take care of my family, but I am also going to take better care of me. It is time. If not now, when?

My new mantra is “50 is the new 50!

So be your own Valentine this year…make yourself a top priority…and show yourself some love!
